Bank of Thailand (BOT)
Bank of Thailand Competitive Scholarship (master's and PhD)
The central bank's yearly open competition for people who will join BOT after graduating. The PhD track is economics only; the master's track covers the fields BOT needs, at universities on its approved list in 16 countries or in Thailand.
Application round
The 2569 round opened on 4 February and closed on 15 April 2026 (online at bot.or.th under Careers, Scholarships). After the eligibility check there is a written screening test, a document round, a suitability assessment and two interviews.
Next round
The 2570 round is expected in February 2027. BOT has run this round from early February to mid-April for the last two years, so aim to have your IELTS 7.0 by January.
The IELTS requirement
You upload your English result with the application, so you need IELTS 7.0 overall with no band below 6 (or TOEFL iBT 95), taken within two years of the closing date. The only exemptions are a Thai-taught course in Thailand, a degree already taught in English abroad, or an unconditional offer from a university on BOT's list. For many applicants the IELTS is the hardest part of the paperwork, so book the test early in the year.
