Bank of Thailand (BOT)
Dr. Puey Ungphakorn Centenary Scholarship at LSE (Bank of Thailand)
A single scholarship the Bank of Thailand awards each year for study at the London School of Economics, named after its former governor. It's open to the public as well as BOT staff, and the catch is that you apply to LSE first and bring the offer to BOT.
Application round
The 2569 round opened on 4 February and closed on 15 April 2026, online at bot.or.th. Selection is a document round followed by an interview; the shortlist came out in April and the result in May.
Next round
The 2570 round is expected to open in February 2027 alongside BOT's other scholarships. To have an LSE offer in hand by then, apply to LSE in late 2026 with your IELTS already done.
The IELTS requirement
BOT itself asks only for a TOEFL or IELTS result "if you have one", under two years old. The real requirement is LSE's: your offer must have no language conditions by BOT's closing date, and LSE's standard graduate level is IELTS 7.0 overall with at least 6.5 in each component (its research level asks for 7.0 in reading and writing). Since LSE's own deadlines fall earlier, plan the IELTS for the autumn before you apply.
