University of Bristol
University of Bristol Think Big Scholarships
Bristol's main scholarship scheme for overseas-fee students, open to Thai applicants in any eligible subject. Awards go towards your first-year tuition fees, and you can apply before you have an offer. The same form covers the GREAT Scholarships Thailand award at Bristol and two smaller named awards.
Application round
Applications for September 2027 entry opened on 27 October 2026 at 10:00 UK time and close on Friday 19 March 2027 at 13:00 UK time (20:00 in Thailand). Outcomes are shared in early May 2027, offers must be accepted by the end of May and award letters follow in July. Bristol says more postgraduate awards will be added to the list by the end of November 2026.
The IELTS requirement
Think Big has no English requirement of its own. You need to meet your course's requirement to turn a conditional offer into an unconditional one. UK master's courses commonly ask for IELTS 6.5 overall and bachelor's courses 6.0 to 6.5, with per-component minimums that vary, so check your Bristol course page. Because the scholarship outcome comes in early May 2027 and you must accept by the end of May, it is sensible to have your score by then.
