City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK)
CityUHK Entrance Scholarship Scheme for International Students
CityUHK's merit awards for international students admitted to its government-funded bachelor's degrees. There is no scholarship application: the admissions office assigns a tier to successful applicants on academic merit, and the award renews each year on your CGPA.
Application round
Applications for 2027 entry opened on 24 September 2026. The early deadline is 15 November 2026 and the regular deadline 15 January 2027; applications are processed on a rolling basis, and some programmes keep accepting applications after January. Tuition for non-local students is HK$240,000 a year (HK$400,000 for Veterinary Medicine).
The IELTS requirement
The scholarship itself has no English score, but CityUHK admission does: IELTS 6.5 overall (TOEFL iBT is also accepted). Because the scholarship decision is made from your admission application, you need the result inside the application window, ideally before the 15 November early deadline if you want an early offer.
