The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)
CUHK Admission Scholarships (international undergraduates)
CUHK gives admission scholarships to outstanding new undergraduates, local and non-local, on academic or non-academic performance. International applicants with qualifications such as IB, A-levels or SAT are assessed automatically when they apply for admission; the university identifies qualified students and tells them with the offer. Many awards run for the whole normal study period.
Application round
There is no scholarship application. You are considered when you apply for admission as an international applicant. For 2026 entry the Advance Offer Round closed on 13 November 2025 and the Regular Round on 8 January 2026; the 2027 dates had not been published when we checked.
Next round
CUHK normally runs an Advance Offer Round in November and a Regular Round in early January for entry the following September. Check the important dates page for the 2027 round.
The IELTS requirement
The scholarships set no English score of their own; you need to meet CUHK's English requirement for admission, and the test result goes in with your application (IELTS One Skill Retake results are not counted). English-taught bachelor's degrees in Hong Kong commonly ask for around IELTS 6.5, so check the exact requirement on the CUHK requirements page and plan to have the result before the application round closes.
