Deakin University
Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship
Deakin's top merit award for international students starting a coursework bachelor's or master's degree. It covers 100% or 50% of tuition for the normal length of your course, plus priority access to on-campus accommodation. You need an average of at least 85% in your previous studies, and you apply with a personal statement and two references alongside your course application.
Application round
Applications are assessed on a rolling basis before each trimester. Email the completed form and documents to Deakin International Admissions at least one month before your course starts; you may be invited to an interview, and only successful applicants are contacted.
The IELTS requirement
The scholarship itself sets no IELTS score; you have to meet the English requirement listed under your course's entry requirements. For most Deakin courses that is IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, and courses such as teaching and nursing ask for more. Because the scholarship is decided before the trimester starts, aim to have the score when you submit your course application rather than afterwards.
