French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, run by Campus France
France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship Programme
France's flagship scholarship for attracting top foreign students to master's and doctoral programmes. You can't apply yourself: you apply to a French institution, and it submits your file to Campus France if it wants to put you forward.
Application round
The 2027 session opened in October 2026. Institutions must get their nominations to Campus France by 6 January 2027 (inclusive), and each sets an earlier internal deadline for students. Results are published from 12 April 2027.
The IELTS requirement
Eiffel has no language requirement of its own. Because the French institution chooses whom to nominate from the students it has admitted or pre-admitted, you need to meet that institution's English requirement when you apply to it, which for English-taught master's programmes is commonly IELTS 6.5. Many institutions set their internal Eiffel deadline in November or December, so have your score ready by then.
