Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)
KAIST Scholarship for International Graduate Students
KAIST's funding for international students in all graduate departments except the GDI-GTIP track. You select the KAIST scholarship option in your admission application; admitted students who stand out are also put forward automatically for the Global Presidential Scholarship (master's) or the Prestige Scholarship (PhD).
Application round
Fall 2027 applications run from 7 January to 5 February 2027 at admission.kaist.ac.kr/intl-graduate. Spring 2027 applications closed on 1 September 2026. Choose the KAIST scholarship option in the form; no separate scholarship application is needed.
The IELTS requirement
KAIST graduate admission requires one valid English test with the application: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (IELTS Online accepted, One Skill Retake not), TOEFL iBT 83 (no MyBest scores), TOEIC 720 or TEPS 326. The score must still be valid on the application deadline, so for Fall 2027 sit IELTS no later than January 2027. From the Fall 2027 cycle a waiver is available if your previous degree was taught in English in a listed country, which does not include Thailand.
