KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm
KTH Scholarship (KTH Royal Institute of Technology)
KTH's own merit scholarship for international master's students. It pays the whole tuition fee for your programme but nothing towards living costs, and it is selective: in 2026, 65 of 718 admitted applicants were nominated.
Application round
First apply to a KTH master's at universityadmissions.se (the national deadline is 15 January 2027). Then submit the scholarship form on the KTH page between 1 December 2026 and 15 January 2027; no extra documents are needed. Results are announced on 1 April 2027.
The IELTS requirement
KTH sets no separate score for the scholarship: it only considers applicants who meet the programme's admission requirements, and the evaluation uses the documents you upload to universityadmissions.se by 1 February 2027. Swedish master's programmes require "English 6", which universityadmissions.se equates to IELTS Academic 6.5 with no section below 5.5. So your IELTS result must be in your admission file by 1 February, in practice well before the 15 January scholarship deadline.
