University of Manchester
University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarship
The University of Manchester's largest scholarship scheme for international students, worth more than £6 million for September 2027 entry. Thailand is one of 23 eligible countries. Thai-domiciled offer holders can get £10,000 off a one-year master's or £10,000 a year for three years of a bachelor's degree, awarded on academic merit and the quality of a short online application.
Application round
The scholarship form is emailed to eligible offer holders rather than published, so apply for your course first. In the 2026 round the master's form closed on 30 April 2026 (results by 1 June) and the undergraduate form on 21 April 2026 (results by 22 May). The 2027 round is confirmed, with award levels and deadlines by country to follow on the Thailand page.
Next round
For September 2027 entry, expect the forms to go out to offer holders in early 2027 with deadlines around April 2027, as in 2026. Apply for your course by the start of 2027 so the offer is in place when the form arrives.
The IELTS requirement
No IELTS score is set by the scholarship, and a conditional offer is enough to be sent the application form, so you can sit the test after applying. You still need to meet your course's English condition to take up the place: Manchester master's courses commonly ask for IELTS 6.5 overall (some 7.0), and bachelor's courses typically 6.0 to 6.5. Check your course page and plan the test for well before the offer deadline.
