Master Mind Scholarships (Flanders, Belgium)
Flanders' scholarship for outstanding international master's students at its universities and universities of applied sciences and arts, including KU Leuven, Ghent, Antwerp, Hasselt and VUB. You apply to the host institution, which can nominate up to 20 students a year.
Application round
The 2026/27 call is closed. Host institutions set their own deadlines for that round: KU Leuven 15 January, University of Antwerp 1 February, Hasselt 15 March, Ghent and VUB 1 April, and the universities of applied sciences and arts between 1 March and 13 April 2026.
Next round
The 2027/28 call hasn't been published, and Study in Flanders warns that the grant, selection process and modalities may change for 2027/28. If the pattern holds, institutional deadlines will fall between January and April 2027, so have IELTS 7.0 ready by the end of 2026.
The IELTS requirement
Master Mind sets its own score: IELTS 7.0 overall (or TOEFL iBT 94, or C1) for universities and universities of applied sciences, and IELTS 6.5 (TOEFL 90, or B2) for schools of arts. The certificate must be no more than three years old when your file is processed, and you upload it when the host institution opens your scholarship file, so have the result before the institution's own deadline, typically between January and April.
