Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore)
NTU Nanyang Global Scholarship
NTU's flagship merit scholarship for outstanding freshmen, formerly the Nanyang Scholarship, awarded for the normal length of the degree and bundled with a place in the NTU Honours College. You apply for admission first, then open the scholarship form linked at the end of your application.
Application round
For AY2027, Thai Mathayom 6 applicants apply from 15 October 2026 to 20 January 2027. Submit the admission application, then use the 'Apply for Scholarship' link at the end of it: a 250-word essay, a passport photo and one online appraisal from a school teacher, ideally within two weeks. Year 12 applicants are interviewed within two months of their NTU offer.
The IELTS requirement
The scholarship has no English test of its own, but NTU admission does: an approved English test is mandatory for Thai Mathayom 6 applicants. NTU's international qualifications page lists IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 6.5 in Writing and Speaking, TOEFL iBT 90 (25 in Writing and Speaking) or SAT 1250 with 600 in Reading and Writing. Results must be submitted by the application deadline and be less than two years old, so sit IELTS before January 2027.
