Politecnico di Milano Merit-Based International Scholarships
Italy's top technical university offers a set of merit scholarships each year to international applicants to its English-taught Master of Science programmes. Every award waives tuition; the strongest candidates also get a yearly allowance. Thai applicants qualify as international students.
Application round
For the 2027/28 academic year, pay the admission application fee between 1 October and 1 December 2026 and submit the scholarship application form in Online Services. The full call with later deadlines is in a PDF on the Polimi page; English proof is due by 4 March 2027.
The IELTS requirement
Politecnico di Milano accepts IELTS, Academic or General Training, at 6 or above for admission to its MSc programmes. You don't need the certificate in hand when you apply for the scholarship in the early-bird round, but it must be submitted by 4 March 2027 (the admission deadline for English proof). Book a test by January 2027 at the latest.

What it covers
- A full tuition-fee waiver (you pay only an administrative fee of about €170)
- For some awards, a gross allowance of up to €10,000 a year
- Not covered: living costs beyond the allowance, travel or insurance
Who can apply
- International candidate applying to the first year of an English-taught Master of Science starting in the first semester
- Admission application submitted, with the application fee paid, during the early-bird window of 1 October to 1 December 2026
- A separate scholarship form submitted through Politecnico di Milano Online Services
- Selected on GPA, academic achievements, fit of your previous degree with the programme and, where requested, your portfolio
