Princeton University
Princeton University Financial Aid (international students)
Princeton's aid programme treats international students exactly like Americans: admission is need-blind, the full need of every admitted student is met, and the money is a grant that does not have to be repaid. Princeton offers no merit or athletic scholarships, so this is the only route to funding and you apply for it alongside admission.
Application round
For entry in autumn 2027, Single-Choice Early Action closed on 1 November 2026 and Regular Decision closes on 1 January 2027. The financial aid application is due 9 November for early applicants and 1 February for Regular Decision. Decisions come in mid-December and late March.
The IELTS requirement
Princeton sets no IELTS score for aid, but if English is not your native language and your school does not teach in English you must submit TOEFL, IELTS Academic, Duolingo or PTE Academic with the admission application, so sit the test before the deadline. You are exempt after three years at an English-medium secondary school. Princeton publishes no minimum; competitive applicants to peer universities typically show 7.0 or higher.
