Schwarzman Scholars (Tsinghua University)
A one-year master's in Global Affairs at Tsinghua for up to 200 future leaders a year, with everything paid. Thai applicants use the global round; the separate China round is only for Chinese passport holders.
Application round
The round for the Class of 2027-28 has closed. Schwarzman gives the global application period as April to September each year and publishes months rather than exact dates.
Next round
The round for the Class of 2028-29 is listed as April to September 2027 (global round), with selection in October and November 2027 and the programme starting in August 2028. Plan to have your IELTS 7 by mid-2027 at the latest.
The IELTS requirement
You report your score in the application, so you need IELTS 7 (or TOEFL iBT 100, Duolingo 130, Cambridge C1/C2 185) before the September deadline. The requirement is waived if you studied for at least two years at an English-medium university, at bachelor's level or above. Scores are valid for two years.

Who can apply
- Any nationality (Thai applicants apply in the global round)
- Aged 18 or over and under 29 on 1 August of the year you enrol
- A bachelor's degree in any field, completed by 1 August of the enrolment year
- Three recommendation letters, a leadership essay and a statement of purpose
- Interviews for finalists are held in London or New York around October and November
