International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF)
TaiwanICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program
TaiwanICDF funds students from partner countries, including Thailand, to take English-taught degree programmes at its partner universities in Taiwan. You apply online to TaiwanICDF and to the university in the same window, and Taiwan's office in Bangkok does the first review.
Application round
Online applications for the 2027 scholarship run from 1 December 2026 to 15 March 2027 through the TaiwanICDF Scholarship Online Application System. You also submit the university's documents by its own deadline and contact the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, which sends its recommendations to TaiwanICDF by 31 March. Results are announced by around 10 June, for a September start.
The IELTS requirement
TaiwanICDF itself has no English test requirement, but the programmes are taught in English and each partner university sets its own admission standard, which you must meet when you apply to the university during the same December-March window. Many Taiwanese graduate programmes ask for around IELTS 6.0, some 6.5, so check your programme's page and have a valid score before March.
