University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship
The University of Calgary's flagship entrance award for international students: C$20,000 a year, renewable for the second, third and fourth years, for two incoming students a year in any faculty. It is judged on academic merit and applied for through the prestige awards section of the applicant portal.
Application round
Apply through the "High School Prestige Awards" section of the My UCalgary portal after applying for admission. The award page does not state a deadline, so check the awards deadline on the UCalgary future students site when you apply.
The IELTS requirement
The scholarship has no English score of its own but you must already meet the University of Calgary's English Language Proficiency requirement, which you show with your admission application. English-taught bachelor's degrees at Canadian universities commonly ask for around IELTS 6.5, so check the requirement for your programme and sit the test before you apply.

What it covers
- C$20,000 in first year
- Renewable in years 2, 3 and 4 if you keep a GPA of 2.60 or higher over at least 24 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue paying international tuition
- Two awards a year, in any undergraduate degree

- International student entering the first year of any undergraduate degree in the coming fall term
- Not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and required to pay international (differential) tuition
- Has met the University of Calgary's English Language Proficiency requirement
- Selected on academic merit
