University of Helsinki
University of Helsinki Scholarship Programme (tuition-fee waivers)
The University of Helsinki waives half or all of the tuition fee (€13,000 to €18,000 a year) for its best fee-paying master's applicants from outside the EU/EEA, Thailand included. There is no separate form: you tick the scholarship in your master's application.
Application round
The application period for international master's programmes starting in autumn 2027 runs from 5 to 19 January 2027 at Studyinfo.fi. Apply for the tuition-fee waiver on the same form; results come with the admission decision, and you then sign a scholarship agreement.
The IELTS requirement
The waiver uses the university's admission requirement: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in listening, reading, writing and speaking. The certificate goes in with your application, and the document deadline follows a few days after the application period closes, so you need the result in hand by late January 2027. TOEFL and other listed tests are accepted too.
