UNSW Sydney
UNSW International Scientia Coursework Scholarship
UNSW's flagship scholarship for international students starting a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. It comes in two tiers, full tuition fees or A$20,000 a year, both for the minimum length of your programme, and you apply through one combined form that also puts you in the running for UNSW's smaller international awards.
Application round
The Term 1 2027 round (reference PUCA1029) opened on 6 July 2026 and closed on 30 October 2026 at 11:59 PM AEST (20:59 Thailand time). Late applications and documents are not accepted.
Next round
UNSW runs a round for each main intake, and the Term 1 round usually opens in early July and closes at the end of October. For a Term 1 2028 start, expect the round to open around July 2027; have your UNSW application in early so the offer arrives before the scholarship deadline.
The IELTS requirement
The scholarship sets no IELTS score. You need a UNSW offer by the closing date, but a conditional offer with the English requirement still outstanding counts, so your IELTS can come after you apply as long as it's in before the term starts. UNSW's common postgraduate requirement is IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0 (some programmes ask for more), and undergraduate courses are usually similar, so aim for 6.5.
